Although now I’m wondering…if you’re uneasy around horses — why the Hobby Horse as your weapon?

  And good question, I initially wanted to make the hobby horse weapon because, aside from it being such a cool and unique weapon of bad-assery, I’ve seen other people attempt to make them and I just wasn’t impressed by any of their variations. I looked and thought to myself; “I think I can make a better one, or at least I can try to make mine look as accurate as possible”, I wanted my first cosplay weapon to be a challenge for me, and boy was it ever lol
  I picked the level 4 version because aside from it being the simplest to do (in terms of design), its a unicorn and I’m more comfortable with unicorns because they’re friendly, fictional creatures xD
  Also, I suppose creating a horse head was somewhat therapeutic for me. I won’t lie, I was kind of uncomfortable working with the mouth so I had my friend help me out with that ._.’ But in the end, because I know the weapon inside out, I’m comfortable carrying around a horse-like weapon. But having a dude with a horse mask stalking you and photo-bombing you throughout the convention is just a whole other level of uncomfortable O_Q

  Here are some pictures of the creation process behind the cosplay weapon I made for my friend; Loki’s Scepter (as seen in The Avengers movie).

Materials Used:
-LOTS and lots of cardboard. Probably should have went with wood, but cardboard was all I had xD
-Pieces from two plastic coat hangers (for support)
-Duct Tape
-Styrofoam for the blue orb thing (I’m sorry I don’t know the name of that part ;-; )
-Newspaper and home-made glue for the paper-mashing part
-Spray paint and permanent markers for those finer details (layered over with varnish)
Time:
-Roughly 4 days 

  The only issue that I have with this is that I made it slightly bigger than it should be ^^;
  But considering what little time I had, and the materials I had available, I think I did a pretty good job *pats self on back* and my friend really liked and appreciated it as well C:

  She decided to compensate me by paying for my Saturday ticket, how awesome is that? :D
  Guys, be proud of me. I finished precisely at the last minute. Bwuahahh :V
  And it actually turned out pretty decent, I have to say (pics shall be posted soon).
 
  But yeah, this’ll be my first time attending a ComicCon of any kind. So far my only convention experience has been 4 years of Otakuthon~ So I hope this con will be just as, if not more, enjoyable :3
  I know their guest list is far more impressive, some big names here and there, but I can honestly say that I probably can’t afford to meet any of them. Such is life. ;-;
  Good news is that I’ll probably still be able to meet Johnny Yong Bosch. Hellz yeah~! x) I’m hoping that I’ll be able to run into Mike Mignola too, and get him to sign my issue of HellBoy <3

  As for whom I’ll be cosplaying, I’m just going to recycle my Alice (Alice: Madness Returns) cosplay once again. Hopefully this time my hobby horse weapon will get by Weapons Check *here’s hoping*

  Anyhow, gonna try to get some sleep at last. Early rise tomorrow today, and I still have to figure out how I’m going to carry my big-ass weapon plus my friend’s scepter to our meeting place. Oh my. ._.’

Anyway, this was inspired by Tevlek’s recent MarchMouse fanfics that feature Thackery wearing Absolem’s sweater. I just thought that was one of the cutest things, and I had to draw it o3o
I realize that Mally may be a little out of character here, but I felt like drawing him with that kind of “holy shit, that’s cute!” expression (or at least I tried), bwuahahahaa :V 
I make Thackery look really feminine in my drawings, I know.
